Genetics Course:  “Genetic Analysis of Complex Human Diseases”
May 16 – 19, 2010, Miami Beach Resort, Miami Beach, Florida
 
The John P. Hussman Institute for Human Genomics, University of Miami Miller School of Medicine, is accepting applications from graduate students, postdoctoral fellows and faculty for the upcoming course – “Genetic Analysis of Complex Human Diseases.”  This is a comprehensive four-day course that will introduce state-of-the-artapproaches for the mappingand characterization of humaninherited disorders with anemphasis on the mappingof genes involved incommon and genetically complexdisease phenotypes.
 
The primary goal of this course is to provide participants with an overview of approaches for identifying genes involved in complex human diseases.  At the end of the course, participants should be able to identify the key components of a study team, and communicate effectively with specialists in various areas to design and execute a study.
 
The application deadline is February 15, 2010.  Space is limited so apply early. Applications will be reviewed upon receipt.  Underrepresented minorities, women and persons with disabilities are strongly encouraged to apply.
