Dear AfSHG members,

We are in the process of updating our membership database and would like
to take this opportunity to draw your attention to the option of life
membership.

Several members have already taken up this option, which we are very
grateful for as a Society, to ensures our sustainability over time.
Needless to say life membership makes your life easier as well as ours in
terms of keeping our database up-to-date, as well as being cheaper than
the annual membership fee.

Current life membership fees are:
* For individual from a developing country 	$250
* For individual from Europe/North America	$1,000

We have unfortunately still not found an easy solution regarding the
payment of membership fees, other than into our AfSHG US-based bank
account. Therefore, we want to encourage only those with easy access to a
US bank or bank account to pay annual or life membership fees directly.
International money transfers often incur a handling fee, which we want to
avoid.
Thus, for the time being we will continue to collect membership fees from
those with no access to a US bank during our annual meetings.
