Dear AfSHG members,
I'm a graduate student at the National Institutes of Health (NIH), at the National Human Genome Research Institute in Bethesda, MD, USA. I am currently conducting research to look qualitatively at how culture influences genetics research in developing countries. Towards this end, I am seeking academics, scientists, physicians, nurses, other professionals, research/clinical staff and students to participate in this study. The only requirements are that potential respondents have been involved in human genetics research in developing countries, have had direct contact with the research participants, and are over the age of 18.
This is an interview study, and respondents will be asked questions about how culture has had an impact on their work in developing countries. The interview can be done by phone and takes approximately an hour.
If you would be willing to participate in this study or you know a colleague or friend who would like to, please e-mail me at simonsonm at nih.gov or call +1-303-827-8754.
Thank you.
Sincerely,
Mindy Simonson
