Hello everyone,

Abstract submission is now open for the AfSHG 2009 Conference which will take place from March 13-15, 2009 in Yaounde, Cameroon. The theme for the conference is “Human Origins, Genetic Diversity and Health”. The sub-themes are: "Human Origins and Genetic Diversity", "Chronic Diseases", "Medical Genetics", "Pharmacogenomics" and "Ethnicity, Appearance, Culture and Genetics". The meeting will be held in conjunction with the Cameroon Genetics Society. 

Instructions for Authors

1. The abstract should be submitted electronically through the AfSHG website. Faxed abstracts will NOT be accepted.

2. You may type in the abstract directly or first prepare the abstract using any word or text processing software and then copy and paste it into the online abstract submission form.

3. The entire abstract should not be more than 300 words. 

4. Use a structured format with the sub-headings: Background, Methods, Results, Conclusions 

5. Type in the Title in CAPITAL LETTERS 

6. Indicate the presenting authorís name with ***

7. Young investigators who want to participate in the Young Investigator Prize competition should give the full name of their supervisor or line manager at the end of the abstract.

8. Both poster and oral presentations will be accepted, please indicate your preference on the online submission page. However, because of restricted program time, only a limited number of oral presentations will be possible.

9. When you are satisfied that you have checked all the above points, submit your abstract using the online submission page at http://www.afshg.org/2009_abstract_submission.html

10. You will be notified via email regarding abstract acceptance by 20th December 2008.
