Our goal
is to have as many people who have interest in biomedical research in
Africa to attend our conferences/workshops. Funding is
continuously being sought to sponsor speakers and other
individuals that we believe will make a significant contribution to the
development of the Society.
During the inaugural conference in Accra, Ghana, a committee was nominated
and formally charged with the responsibility of organizing the next meeting in 2004.
The
Society will continue to provide, where possible, partial support for
some African researchers that are not specifically invited to attend
its workshops. All applicants for partial support will be
required to provide documentation of active involvement in research
with relevance to genetics.
